Crystals and more crystals

With all of the doom and gloom around AI (along with ridiculous hype), there are some interesting deep learning applications that continue to impress. Alpha Fold has been around for awhile, making protein folding predictions that scientist previously dreamed about. Now it is GNoME, which focuses on materials science (particularly crystals), and has identified a possible 2.2 million new structures. Of course there still is the whole issue of actually making the compounds, but knowing what your end target it certainly gives you a leg up in the lab.
