But people need to eat as well. If we use Maslow&#8217;s hierarchy, the foundation for a human is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Homeostasis\">Homeostasis<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Health\">Health<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Food\">Food<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Water\">Water<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sleep\">Sleep<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clothes\">Clothes<\/a><\/li><li>Shelter<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maslow's_hierarchy_of_needs#cite_note-Maslow's_Hierarchy_of_Needs-10\">[10]<\/a><\/sup><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Not sure we&#8217;re going to see homeostasis any time soon, but the others need to be attended to. Food and household supplies have been a challenge for everyone, but particularly seniors and other &#8220;at-risk&#8221; populations. In response to that, a number of grocery stores are <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"announcing special times (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2020\/03\/17\/coronavirus-shopping-stores-introduce-time-for-vulnerable-elderly-pregnant\/5074064002\/\" target=\"_blank\">announcing special times<\/a> set aside for vulnerable people to shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of the pandemic 2nd and 3rd order effects are just starting to be realized.
