It really centers around whether or not we (humans) want to detect what is written by us (humans) as opposed to them (AI). At this point it likely is unavoidable and detection or &#8220;banning&#8221; is a non-starter. At this point generative AI, at least text-based, can serve as a great starting point for writers. But as anyone who writes a lot knows, writing is re-writing so really ChatGPT is saving a first step. But that is the current iteration. Look for future models to be able to iterate and re-write based on human feedback (Midjourney kind of does this with images).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of this begs questions of authorship, ownership, and equity\/ethics.
