For the tl;dr crowd:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>will it mitigate bias?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what about copyright?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how will it change our jobs?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what misinformation will it enable?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what about the costs?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>will doomerism dominate policymaking?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>#6 is clearly in our wheelhouse and is a bit of a mess at the moment. You have a couple of different camps forming &#8211; those that think AI is an imminent existential threat on one side, and those that think that threat is overhyped and instead we should focus on near-term issues (like the first 5 above). Seems that one could be in both camps as it likely have near-term as well as existential long-term threats. But different policies will lead to different winners and losers, and stakes are high.
