peeing blue

Well, day two post accident, and things are slowly getting better. I'm peeing blue though...I'm assuming that is from the methylene blue dye. Yesterday afternoon was miserable as the vicodin was not doing the job. You know how you get those throbbing pains? Well, imagine the "up" part of the throb with no "down" part. And the foot and knee alternated for supremecy.

Sharon has been taking great care of me, one arm and all. We've both been hashing through some of the deeper meanings, but that'll come in time. For now suffice it to say that we both were *very* lucky, and the higher power wants us both around for some reason or another. My body is a bit more sore today, but the vicodin is working and I've been able to get some sleep on the couch. Tomorrow I try to navigate the healthcare system again and get either to my regular doc and/or a plastic surgeon to figure out what to do with the two wounds.

More on this as it develops. I'm sure the rehab will be up and down, with plenty of pain. Its a shame that I have to learn lessons the hard way, but as I've told Sharon before, I'm "dense" sometimes. This has been a gift so far though. A painful one, but sometimes that's the way it works. Time to keep working on my "purpose" (music? education? something else?) and keep walking...
