end of the world as we know it

Today was moderating a panel discussion at Digital Hollywood. As usual, I have to be the agent provacateur. Repeating my apocalyptic vision: in 25 years 90% of colleges and universities will be out of business.

Well, interesting discussion around the room. Some scary "visions" of people talking about how the content that kids make is all crap. Mostly because it doesn't fit into the traditional definition of "quality." My argument was if their peers like it, then it is good. But others are a bit more dogmatic than me and want the traditional "great works" to be the benchmark. I say great, but why not let them remix Shakespeare? Mashup Mozart? Loop Liberace? Why not...
