Rules. Everybody's got them. In this case, if a vendor tells Fedex that they have to get a signature from a live person to deliver, then any notes that you leave won't make a difference. The only up-side is that you can at least go to the Fedex distribution center and pick up the package after 7pm or so. And thankfully getting from west LA to Marina del Rey at 7pm on a Friday night is a piece of cake. Fruitcake. Hard like rock fruitcake.
