This one came pretty much out of left field. The mom of one of my son's good friends passed away today. She had been battling cancer, but was in remission, or so I thought. Not sure on the details, but went into the hospital a week or so ago for something minor and then rapidly went downhill. Only 50. Her husband is dead, so her 80 year old father now will raise her 11 year old son. Or his 20-something year old brother will. Sad. God speed...
