I can be snarky and somewhat of a complainer at times. In musical circles, I'm often in a quandry as to how much I want to say (negatively) about those that I end up playing with. We all have our issues, and gawd knows that I am far from perfect on the bass (and anywhere else for that matter). But I think I usually play at a pretty high level, and can read/fake my way through most stuff without people knowing. Happily I often end up playing with great people/musicians. But sometimes things just don't quite send me. It isn't necessarily that they are bad, but just that I don't really feel it. So I'm loathe to mention that to the leader, but if one doesn't speak up, then nothing really happens. Thankfully the Friday night thing is pretty mellow and not an issue...
