aboutface (book)

I removed my photos from facebook today, and deactivated my account. A couple of drivers in that. First, the new terms of service and privacy agreement is annoying and offensive. I'm tired of people thinking they own everything. And more broadly...what's the point? Sure, great to connect with old friends but I really didn't do that on facebook. I see the utility as a "social tool" and if I were looking for work I'd leverage it. But at this point it is more like being back in high school and everyone is worrying about what everyone else is doing. My life is public enough - do I really need yet another flashlight on my experience? Maybe it is too many years of digital living, but I'm pulling back into analog more and more. I'll keep this blog going as it is *mine* and is an outlet for things I create. But facebook/linkedin/twitter/etc? See ya...
