And following up on the passing of a friend's wife, I get a call tonight telling my that my dad is in the hospital with pneumonia. I called him and he sounded surprisingly well (after a couple of nasty procedures). Must have been the pain meds. When it rains, it pours. Off to SD in the am to visit him. Luckily Kaiser has provided quite good care for him in the past (and for my mom before she passed), so it should all come out ok.
