Add "firefighter" to the list of accomplishments. Another trip to Zuma today, but for some reason the rest of LA decided to go at the same time and Calvin and I spent an HOUR waiting in the line to get into the parking lot (note to LA County - increase staffing of parking lot entry when the weekend weather is in the 90's). As we creep closer to the entrance I notice that the Explorer in front of us has some smoke rising from it. At first I assume they're bonging out or something, and someone does climb out of the passenger side holding a cigar. But then there is more smoke, and then I see fluid dripping underneath the car, then it catches fire. I pull out to the side and in front of them and open up the rear of the A3. I see the 3 small water bottles (note to self: take the fire extinguisher sitting in the garage that was removed from the 911 before I sold it and put it in the car), but luckily Calvin points out the gallon water bottle sitting there (doh!). I grab it and run over to the car where they are trying to use their sodas in their cooler to put out the growing engine fire. I manage to get the underside out, then attack the firewall and put that out. Cue the fire trucks, but it was under control at that point. Of course most of the people in line then passed me as I got back into my car. People...
