aperture vs lightroom

Digital Asset Management. Dam. Damn. I have too many photos, and no software is perfect. At what point do you jump ship from one product to another. For the record, Aperture *still* doesn't support one of my two cameras even though it has been out for well over a year. And they didn't support another one I had for awhile. Or another one. The alternative, Lightroom, suffers from the usual Adobe interface issues, feels slow and kludgy, and requires learning a new UI. But now I'm going through 5+ years of images creating a master archive and backup, so if I'm going to create new libraries now is the time. Sigh...
