I am generally a big fan of Apple stuff, but I will admit when they get it wrong. I moved from a two generation old MacBookPro (which I worked hard and it rarely faltered) to a new maxed-out MacBookPro (8Gig RAM, mmm) running 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard). What a steaming pile of crap. Well, not Vista-bad, but so far I am not happy. Multiple hard crashes when trying to access some of my external FW drives. Applications not running (Final Draft for one - how can I work on scripts?!?). And the worst insult - Quicktime X. Gone is QT pro with the ability to view and edit myriad formats and codecs. Instead replaced by a "clean interface" that won't run my FRAPS AVI files, won't deal with mp4 files, and is just garbage. I now have to install a "special" version of QT7 pro from the system DVD (which IT didn't give to me so now they have to find it).
I should have just kept my old machine...bastards. 10.6.2 better be around the corner and be better. A *lot* better.
